What is the dress code?
The dress code for the Community Symposium (Friday, 8/31 dinner through Sunday, 9/2, 2pm) will be Business Casual.

The rest of the Kavli Prize Week events, beginning with the Kavli Foundation Reception at the Grand Hotel (Sunday, 9/2 at 4:30pm), are Business Attire.

Note: for the two Receptions during the week (Kavli Reception at Grand Hotel on Sept 2 and the Norwegian Academy of Science Reception on Sept 3),there is a bit more flexibility in attire that what is listed on the official website. Both business attire OR business cocktail is acceptable.

The Banquet Dinner on the September 4th is Black Tie.

Hours of operation: 10am-6pm Monday-Friday; 10am-4pm Saturday
Address: Prinsensgate 5, 0152 Oslo

Please keep in mind that if you are attempting to purchase a gown in Oslo, that prices will be more expensive and there are limited options near the City Centre.

Public transport
Ruter is the name of the public transport system. City buses, regional buses, trams, subway/metro, local trains and ferries (not the Bygdøy ferry) are all included in Ruter’s ticket system. Tickets can be purchased from any of Ruter’s sales points. Tickets cost NOK 20 (~$2.50) more when purchased on board. To travel by subway/metro or tram, you must always pre-purchase a ticket. We recommend downloading the Ruter Ticket app for easy purchase of tickets.

Cash or card?
If you have a debit/credit card with a chip there is no need for local currency. Cash can be used as well, with public transport as the exception (see public transport).

The Taxi Company and drivers will speak English.
