Science Program Officer

Stephanie Albin recently joined The Kavli Foundation as a Science Program Officer in September 2017. Prior to joining the Foundation, Dr. Albin spent two years as an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow stationed at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the Division of Chemistry. At NSF, Dr. Albin worked on NSF-wide priorities such as the Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative. Dr. Albin received her B.S. from MIT in Biology and completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of California, San Francisco. After graduate school, she researched the neural circuitry encoding hunger state and feeding behavior in Drosophila melanogaster while a postdoctoral fellow at the Howard Hughes Medical Insititute (HHMI)’s Janelia Research Campus.
